Chiropractic Care during Holidays

Chiropractic Care during Holidays

The holiday shopping season is upon us, and it brings with it a sense of joy and accomplishment when we give and receive and spend time with family and friends. However, it can also bring back and neck pain after long days of shopping and loading heavy items into cars, trucks and vans. Here at Senft Chiropractor of Atlanta, we want you to stay healthy, well and pain free all holiday season.

Common Holiday Injuries

Seasonal holiday shopping can be as taxing on your body as running a marathon. It requires hours on your feet, walking from store to store and carrying one or more heavy bags. This can lead to foot, knee, arm, shoulder, back and neck pain as well as sprains and strains of your major muscle groups and tendons.

To prevent injuries, we recommend stretching before your shopping trip and before and after each store. Individuals with limited stamina should take a 15 minute break every hour. If you feel pain during your trip, you should ice area for 20 minutes as soon as you are able and repeat icing the area every couple of hours. This helps reduce inflammation, pain and swelling.

Benefits of Chiropractic Care During the Holidays

If your pain is persistent or your muscles are unusually sore, a visit to our Atlanta chiropractor can help diagnose and heal the injury. Our chiropractor utilizes holistic treatments to heal back, neck and extremity pain and to heal injuries of the muscles and tendons. Chiropractic care, including manual adjustments, can help keep your spine in its proper alignment, which reduces nerve and muscle pain and promotes proper blood flow. We also offer posture analysis and correction and advice on how to keep your home and office spaces ergonomically friendly.
