At Senft Chiropractic of Atlanta, Dr. Craig A. Senft, our chiropractor, is dedicated to providing long-term relief to Atlanta, GA, residents suffering from various types of pain such as back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, sciatica, and more, using holistic and noninvasive techniques that promote natural healing.

What Is the Diversified Technique?

The diversified technique is a treatment method used by chiropractors to help relieve chronic pain in the body. It's also known as the diversified method or diversified adjustment. Its objective is to
correct spinal subluxations, and structural and postural abnormalities.

Where Did the Diversified Technique Come From?

The diversified technique is a manual therapy practice that was developed in the early 1900's. The founder of diversified techniques, Dr. Clarence Hamilton, believed that subluxations occurred in different locations throughout the spine and not just at one specific level as previously thought by other manual therapists at that time. He developed what we now know as the five primary vectors of the diversified technique.

How the Diversified Technique Works

The main objective of chiropractic care is to enhance and maintain healthy musculoskeletal and nervous systems for optimal functionality. Given the various life stressors that our bodies are prone to, it at times becomes challenging for the body to adapt, and consequently, its ability to heal. This observation is practically seen in the spinal column through joint misalignments and vertebral subluxation.
Nevertheless, the diversified technique offers lasting relief when performed by a skilled practitioner. The first step in diversifying your spine involves our chiropractor assessing your health status through palpation, range of motion testing, muscle strength assessments, and joint mobility tests. The doctor then applies corrective force using either soft tissue techniques or joint-specific techniques
depending on the affected area and the patient’s needs.
